How MK Network Inc. collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains personal information across recruiting, career coaching, and this website.
MK Network Inc. (“MK Network,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Vancouver, British Columbia talent recruiting and career coaching business. We are accountable for personal information in our control and aim to handle it fairly, transparently, and in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws.
1. Scope
This Policy applies when you visit mknetworkinc.com, contact us, book a call, apply for a role, participate in recruiting, receive career coaching, engage us as a client, or otherwise interact with us.
It does not govern a third party’s own websites, platforms, or privacy practices. If we process candidate information solely on a client’s instructions, that client may also be responsible for its own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Contact and identity details: name, email, telephone number, location, and professional profile links.
- Recruitment information: résumé or CV, cover note, employment and education history, qualifications, skills, work authorization, role preferences, availability, compensation expectations, interview notes, assessments, references, and other application material you choose to provide.
- Coaching information: career goals, work history, challenges, session notes, assessments, plans, documents, and feedback shared during coaching.
- Client and business information: business contact details, hiring requirements, role descriptions, candidate feedback, contracts, invoices, and correspondence.
- Communications: form submissions, emails, call or meeting details, and messages sent through third-party communication tools.
Information collected automatically
When you use the website, our hosting, security, and website tools may collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, cookie identifiers, and diagnostic or security logs.
Sensitive information
Please do not send government identification numbers, financial account details, health information, or other highly sensitive information unless we specifically request it and explain why it is needed. If a role or service reasonably requires sensitive information, we will seek appropriate consent and apply safeguards suited to its sensitivity.
3. Where information comes from
We may obtain personal information directly from you; from employers or recruiting clients; from references or people who refer you; from publicly available professional sources such as company biographies or professional networking profiles; and from service providers that help us operate our website, scheduling, communications, security, recruiting, or coaching activities. We collect from other sources only where permitted by law.
4. How we use information
- respond to inquiries and schedule consultations;
- evaluate applications, match people with opportunities, communicate about roles, arrange interviews, verify information where authorized, and manage recruiting pipelines;
- present a candidate to a prospective employer only with consent or as otherwise permitted by law;
- deliver career coaching, assessments, plans, resources, and follow-up support;
- provide recruiting services to business clients and manage those relationships;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and our services;
- maintain business, tax, contractual, consent, and compliance records;
- prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms;
- send service messages and, where consent or another lawful basis exists, relevant marketing communications; and
- comply with law, legal process, professional obligations, and enforceable requests.
We will not use personal information for a materially new purpose without obtaining consent where required.
5. Consent and other permitted processing
We seek meaningful consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information unless applicable law authorizes or requires otherwise. Consent may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations of the individual.
You may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal may limit our ability to provide a service, consider an application, or continue a recruiting process. We will explain material consequences when you make the request.
7. Processing outside your province or country
Our service providers, recruiting clients, or prospective employers may process information outside British Columbia or Canada. As a result, information may be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement, or regulatory authorities there. Contact us if you would like more information about relevant service-provider locations or safeguards.
8. Retention and disposal
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to complete recruiting or coaching activities, maintain appropriate candidate and client records, satisfy legal or accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention varies by record type, sensitivity, consent, whether an application remains active, client requirements, and legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we securely delete, destroy, or anonymize it, subject to backup cycles and lawful exceptions. Applicants may ask us to remove their profile from future consideration.
9. Security safeguards
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and context of the information, which may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, service-provider review, staff confidentiality expectations, backups, and secure disposal practices.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
Subject to applicable law and limited exceptions, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used or disclosed, and request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. You may also withdraw consent, object to certain communications, or ask about deletion or retention.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any lawful limitation. To stop commercial electronic messages, use the unsubscribe method provided or email us. Transactional or service messages may continue where necessary.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as applicable.
12. Minors
Our services are intended for people who can lawfully participate in employment, recruiting, or coaching services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances requiring parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child provided information improperly, contact us so we can address it.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as our services, technology, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date shows when the current version was posted. We will provide additional notice or seek consent if required for a material change.
